Jim Martin phone banks at the IBEW Union Hall
Georgia AFL-CIO President Richard Ray says: "Working people know the time for change is now"
Today union volunteers from throughout Georgia will tour worksites in Atlanta, urging union voters to vote for Jim Martin on December 2nd. Martin is the only candidate running for Georgia's senate seat who has a proven track record of working for working families.
The series of worksite leaflets are part of an unprecedented union voter mobilization effort in Georgia. Thousands of AFL-CIO volunteers will knock on doors, make phone calls, and distribute worksite flyers to turn out Georgia's 325,000 union voters for the runoff election between Martin and his anti-working family opponent, Saxby Chambliss.

"Jim Martin has been fighting for working families all his life – first as a soldier in Vietnam, then as a state legislator in Atlanta. On every issue that counts – from health care to fair trade – he has stood by the interests of the people of this great state, not those of the corporate elite," said Georgia AFL-CIO President Richard Ray. "Working people know the time for change is now, and they're ready to turn around Georgia and turn around America by electing Jim Martin."
